The SVO department at JLR previously gave us a taste of its talents through the 200mph F-Type SVR last year, showing what the F-Type chassis was capable of once everything was cranked up to 11. Now the skunkworks has turned its attention to the highly-competitive market of performance saloons through the XE SV Project 8 which will use a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine.
Tuning the unit also found in the Project 7, the V8 will produce a staggering 592bhp (600PS), making the Project 8 the most powerful road-going Jaguar ever. Eclipsing the XJ220 by 56bhp and the Project 7 by 25bhp, the Project 8 will be revealed to the public at the 2017 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
